Keith Hartrich, 71 of Robinson, died at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday September 28, 2011 at his home. He was born August 8, 1940 in Ste. Marie, IL, the son of Paul Joseph Hartrich and Clara McKimmy Hartrich. He served in the U. S. Navy as a radarman on the U.S.S. Intrepid from 1958 to 1962. He carried mail for the United States Post Office for 22 years and was assistant Postmaster for 6 years and retired in 1995 after 28 years of service. After retirement, Keith enjoyed more time with his family. He and Eileen began making yearly trips to Bonita Springs, FL, in 2008. Keith enjoyed playing and watching sports with his children. He received joy from watching his children and grandchildren grow.He was an active member of St. Elizabeth€™s Catholic Church. He participated as a communion minister, usher and altar server at daily mass. He and Eileen were Parish Pro-Life Coordinators since 1973. He was also a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Robinson American Legion Post #69.Keith married Eileen Ann Hardiek on April 16, 1966 and she survives. He is also survived by 6 sons and daughters-in-law, Brett and Jamie Hartrich (Bloomington), Bruce and Libby Hartrich (Greenwood, IN), Louis & Morgan Hartrich (Normal), Matthew Hartrich (Robinson), Christopher & Roxanne Hartrich (Bloomington), Justin Hartrich (Eureka, MO); 3 daughters, Lisa Boehl (Christopher), Michelle & Sharon Hartrich-Jackson (Bloomington), Lori Hartrich (Chicago); 25 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers and sisters-in-law, Vincent and Kathy Hartrich (Bloomington), Bill Hartrich (Ste. Marie), Rick and Marilyn Hartrich (Olney), Ted and Susan Hartrich (Robinson), Jim and Debra Hartrich (Morton, IL); 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Hartrich (Olney), Ruth and Don Matheny (Olney); and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Deeter.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1st at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Robinson with Father Aloysius Okey Ndeanaefo and Father Kurt Hartrich officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery, Ste. Marie, IL. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the AmVets Post #33, V. F. W. Post #4559, Robinson American Legion Post #69, and Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30th at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to Effingham Catholic Charities or Students for Life of Illinois.
