Larry Dean Hitt

Larry Dean Hitt, 59, of Robinson, IL died at 6:19 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the comfort of his home. He was born on December 3, 1958 in Washington, IN. He married Rebecca “Becky” Lowe on December 9, 2006, and she survives. He is also survived by his sons & daughters-in-law, Travis & Marty Hitt (Mattoon, IL), Matthew Hitt (Vincennes, IN), and Dylan & Christina Hitt (Oblong, IL); by his grandchildren, Kahlei Hitt (Indianapolis IN), Sam Hitt (Mattoon, IL), Luc Hitt (Mattoon, IL), Thomas Hitt (Hutsonville, IL), and Michael Hitt (Oblong, IL); by his brother, Paul Dale Ervin (Washington, IN); by his sister, Starlena Ervin (Bicknell, IN); by his four-legged fur baby, Maggie (who has always been a daddy’s girl); as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and fiercely-loved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Bertha Hitt; and by his sister, Brenda Payne. Larry was a 1977 graduate of South Knox High School. He went on to work as a mechanic for many years at Ford before getting on at R & L Painting. In his time away from work, he found great enjoyment in fishing, and was also known to play a few games of pool with his friends. Larry was a fun-loving man who cared for his family deeply. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A memorial service will immediately follow and will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, with Rev. Paul Gray officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. To help his family with final expenses, memorials may be made to the Larry Hitt Memorial Fund, with checks made payable to “Goodwine Funeral Homes”.
