Larry Don Waldrop

Larry Don Waldrop, 75, of Robinson, IL died at 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. He was born January 11, 1940 in Chauncey, IL, the son of Herman Joseph Waldrop & Ruby Fern Hanson. He married Rheta Reinoehl on June 25th, 1960, and she preceded him in death on July 14, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents and by his brother-in-law, Dale Garrison. He is survived by his daughters, Traci & Bill Ackman (Robinson, IL) and Tangi Waldrop (Robinson, IL); two grandsons, Ben & Kirbie Ackman (Robinson, IL) and Paul Ackman (Robinson, IL); one great-grandson, Jaxon Ackman (Robinson, IL). He is also survived by his brother & sister-in-law, Keith Waldrop & Martha (Oblong, IL); his sister, Shirley Garrison (Johnsonville, IL); his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Bill & Carol Reinoehl, Chuck & Karen Reinoehl (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Larry worked for many years before retiring as a chief operator from Marathon in 1995. Away from work, his life revolved around his family. In his younger days, he coached his girls’ softball teams. Later on in life, he never missed his grandsons’ games and meets, and reveled in having everyone in the family gather for his Sunday cookouts. His family has lost a patriarch and best friend. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Shop with a Cop or to the Palestine Booster Club, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
