Laura Nadine "Dee" Chapman

Laura Nadine "Dee" Chapman, 87, of West Union, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ under Transitions hospice care at Marshall Rehabilitation & Nursing in Marshall, IL, on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

She operated her beauty shop and then went to work at her mother's grocery store. She also worked for Coil Sales in Marshall, IL, for several years until her retirement.

Dee was born Oct.9, 1937, in York Township of Clark County, IL, to Garnet and Carrie (Kenderdine) Ogle. She married Richard Catlin Chapman on Feb. 11, 1956, in Marshall, IL, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lee "Skeet" Ogle, and a sister, Rhea Jean Davison. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy (Lori) Chapman of West Union; one granddaughter, Amanda (Dominic) Baima of Charleston, IL; two great-granddaughters Bindi and Tilli; two brothers, Mac (Lois) Ogle of Shumway, IL and Tony Ogle of Paris, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

She attended West Union First Baptist Church and loved her church family. She loved children and animals. She was known for her sweet tooth and watching cartoons. She had a genuine love for her family and friends. She was a Breast Cancer survivor.

A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16th, at Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. with Steve Dolson officiating. Burial will be in the York Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the York Cemetery maintenance fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
