Lavera L. Seaney

Lavera L. Seaney, 92, of rural Robinson, IL died at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL. She was born January 10, 1922 in Lawrence County, IL, the daughter of Forest Liston & Amanda E. Miller Liston. Lavera was a hard worker who spent much of her time gardening and cooking for her family. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Robinson. Lavera is survived by her husband Chalmer “Junior” Seaney; her daughter & son-in-law, Angie & William Osborn (Robinson, IL); her sister, Nadine McCreery; her brother & sister-in-law, Gaylord & Della Liston; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Liston, Linda Liston, Sara Liston, and Barbara Liston; her grandchildren, Amber Yargus and Brian & Chris Osborn; her great grandchildren, Rachl Houser, Korbin Murphy, and Haylee Smallwood; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Charles Liston, Eulis Liston, Frank Liston, Harry Liston, Harold “Smokey” Liston, Noble Liston, Lawrence Liston, Chester Liston, and Norman Dale Liston. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A graveside service will be held at the Palestine Cemetery following the visitation, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. Memorials may be made to the Ridgeview Care Center Activity Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
