Leona Matheney

Leona Matheney, 70, of Robinson, IL died at 2:00 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014, in the comfort of her and her daughter’s home. She was born March 14th, 1944, in Robinson, the daughter of Samuel Wesley and Emmie (Dunlap) Cornwell. She was passionate about family, and loved to take care of those she loved. She married Pearl Matheney Jr. on July 13th, 1978 and he preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters Melva McClasky and Loreen Brown, brother John Wesley Cornwell, and son Jamie S. Cornwell. She is survived by her children Barbara Watts and husband Brad of Robinson, John Matheney and wife Tondra of Terre Haute, Scott Matheney and wife Chris of Auburn NY, and Kristi Walker of Robinson, beloved daughter-in-law Kim Cornwell, her sister Barbara Rodriguez, brothers Samuel Lee Cornwell, James Cornwell, grandchildren James Buchanan and Emily McGillem, Brad and Krissy Buchanan, Zackery Walker, Wyatt Walker, Kirk Cornwell, Cody Cornwell and Christine Thompson, Rikki Matheney, and Ozzie Matheney. She is also survived by her great-grandson Clayton Buchanan, special nieces Cindy Loera and Lori Buchanan. According to the wishes of the family, there will be no public services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be mailed to the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, who is in charge of arrangements.
