Leonard Allen Meeks

Leonard Allen Meeks, 58, of Robinson, IL, died on November 1, 2019. He was born on July 13, 1961, in Robinson, IL; the son of Oscar & Joan (Piercefield) Meeks, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Russell James Meeks, Larry Gene Meeks, and Ronald Lee Meeks; by his sisters, Patricia Ann Kingery, Evelyn Louise Meeks, Janet Myers, Marilyn Smith, and Cheryl Ann Meeks. He married Rose Marie Boucher on November 18, 1998, and she survives. He is also survived by his children & spouses, Brandon Allen Meeks & Katie Langley (Palestine, IL), Roger Dale & Tammy Burton (Columbus, IN), Brian & Katrina Burton (Palestine, IL), and Stephanie Weaver (Vincennes, IN); by his grandsons, Keenan Allen Michael Meeks and Brentlee Ray Langley; by his brothers & sisters-in-law, Richard & Sandy Meeks, Donald Ray Meeks, Gary Wayne Meeks, Charles Wesley & Jenny Meeks, and Robert “Bobby” Meeks; by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn & Ron McCord, Beatrice & Robert Abernathy, Carol Ann & Wayne Wolf, Sandra Kay LaGrande & Jeff Shelby; as well as several nieces and nephews. Leonard graduated from Oblong High School. He worked for twelve years at the Rain Carbon Plant. Away from work he could be found outside. He found enjoyment in being out on the boat or out shooting. Leonard loved being out on the road on his Harley Davidson. He could also be found watching western movies and listening to country music. What brought him true joy was spending time with his family and his grandbabies. Leonard's family and friends will remember him as a hardworking, loving, selfless man; who will be missed by all. A time of visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5th at Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Good Samaritan Cancer Pavilion", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
