Lilas Ruth Tomczewski

May 3, 1934 — April 27, 2014

Lilas Ruth Tomczewski went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2014, at the age of 79. Lilas was a lifetime resident of Maryland until 2010 when she moved to the Villas of Holly Brook in Marshall, Illinois, where she spent her days enjoying southern life with her late husband Buddy, her daughter Sharlene, and her grandchildren, Destiny and Nicholas and her many new friends. Lilas was a full-time homemaker, loving wife to Buddy, and caring mother to her four daughters. She enjoyed listening to music, shopping in country stores, and designing crafts. She is survived by her four daughters: Barbara Lee Olszewski of Manchester, Maryland; Laura Ruth Brewer of Las Vegas, Nevada; Mary Carol Swedo of Hanover, Pennsylvania: and Sharlene Kay Booth of West York, Illinois; their husbands, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great- grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29th at the Bradbury Cemetery, West York, Illinois. Refreshments will be served at the Villas of Holly Brook in Marshall immediately following the service. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union is in charge of the arrangements.
