Linda Kaye Shaffner

January 25, 1949 — June 28, 2017

Linda Kaye Shaffner, 68, made her joyous entrance to Heaven at 12:50 p.m. (EST) on June 28, 2017 at Gentle Care of Vincennes, IN. She and her twin sister, Brenda were born on January 25, 1949 in Robinson, IL to Delbert “Deb” & Floy “Flo” Reynolds (Graham). She and her siblings grew up in West York, IL, and she, along with Brenda, graduated from Hutsonville High School in 1967. Linda was a hard worker who worked a variety of jobs over the years – at times having as many as three jobs at once! She retired from Wal*Mart in 2014. Linda’s faith in God was the cornerstone of her life. Her sense of humor, optimism, and love of life was infections, and although she was not wealthy, she was generous to a fault. She cherished her family and friends, who in turn cherished her. Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Brenda Lee & Brock Hancock; her granddaughter, Sydnie Hancock; two sisters, Martha (& Earland) Lingafelter, and Norma Hackler; a brother, Roger Dee (& Twila) Reynolds; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother and father; by her twin sister, Brenda Fuller; by her brother, Elman “Buck” Reynolds; and a nephew, Randy Reynolds. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1st at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL. A graveside service will immediately follow, and will be held at the Bradbury Cemetery, with Bro. Billie Rae Ulrey officiating the service. Memorials may be made to Donate Life America, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit alliance of national organizations and Donate Life State Teams across the United States committed to maximizing the number of organs, eyes and tissue available to save and heal lives through transplantation while developing a culture where donation is embraced as a fundamental human responsibility. Memorials may also be made to the Linda Kaye Shaffner Memorial Fund, with checks made payable to “Goodwine Funeral Homes”.
