Linda Louise Shaffer

Linda Louise Shaffer, 56, of Robinson, IL, died at 12:45 p.m. (EST) on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital Vincennes, IN, following a brave battle with cancer. She was born May 19, 1961 in Evergreen Park, IL the daughter of Thomas John & Anita Lee (McKay) Holubek, both of whom preceded her in death. She married James. F. Shaffer, Jr. on July 14, 1979, and he survives. She is also survived by her sons & daughters-in-law; James Ferral, III & Amber Shaffer (Galesburg, IL), Christopher Aaron Shaffer (Robinson, IL), and Nicholas Andrew & Lauren Shaffer (Lawrenceville, IL); by her grandchildren, Blaze Shaffer, Breeze Shaffer, Bentley Shaffer, Lyllah Shaffer, Wyatt Shaffer, Westyn Shaffer, and Quinten Shaffer; by her brothers, Thomas Holubek, Jr. (Greenville IL), and David Holubek (Robinson, IL); by her sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Melanie & Jim McKinney (Robinson, IL), and Robin & Brian Thompson (Greenville, SC); as well as several nieces and nephews. Linda was a 1979 graduate of Robinson High School and went on to work for 22 years as a sales rep for Tempco in Robinson. Away from work, she could often be found spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren and attended nearly all their ballgames. Friends and family alike will remember Linda as a strong, but selfless person who would put anyone before herself. She was a one-of-a-kind soul who will never be forgotten. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Shane Bopp officiating the service. Cremation will follow the service, with a private family burial to be held at a later date. In honor of the countless hours she spent at the Robinson City Park, memorials may be made to the City of Robinson Parks and Recreation Department, with memorial envelopes available at the funeral home.
