Lois Conover, 85, of Robinson, IL, died at 2:05 a.m. on February 24, 2015 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. She was born August 8, 1929 in Hammond, IN, the daughter of Loston Weger and Bonnie Pinkstaff Weger. She retired from Victor Dana after several years of employment. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and shopping. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her love of flowers and birds, and the love she had for her family. She was a longtime member of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church. She loved old hymns and sang at several local churches where her husband John preached. She married her husband, Rev. John W. Conover on October 18th, 1947, and they shared over 67 years of marriage before his death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Weger; her sister, Ruby Gail Weger; and her son, Gary Conover. She is survived by her son, Robert Conover and wife Karla of Oklahoma, daughter Terresa Shoulders and husband Stan of Robinson, son Wyatt Conover of Hillsboro; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Bill Weger and wife Irene of Hammond, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the in the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home in Carmi, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
