Loren (Kenneth) Outcalt, 79, of Robinson, IL, formerly of Palestine, IL, died Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born on May 20, 1941, in Robinson, the son of Glen Outcalt & Margaret (Rowe) Outcalt, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by cousins, Joann Thompson, Robert (Josie) Thompson, Don (Patty) Thompson, Raymond (Eilene) Thompson, and Don (Donna) Rowe; and by his special friend, Angie Price. Kenny grew up in the Palestine area and would eventually find employment with Lawrence-Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens, where he would work from 1988-2017. Outside of work, he could often be found at the Eagles in Palestine, where he was a longtime member alongside his many friends. He was, by all accounts, an avid NASCAR fan, and spent countless Sundays cheering on his beloved Tony Stewart and Chase Elliott. Few things brought him more joy than racing, though Bobe's Pizza was right up there! Those who knew Kenny will remember a man who lived with persistent joy. His good nature reminded us that life is what you make it. He will never be, nor could he ever be, forgotten. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5th at the Palestine Cemetery, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. During the graveside, there will be time of remembrance, where family and friends will have the opportunity to reflect on Kenny’s life. Memorial contributions may be made to "Lawrence-Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens" or to the donor's choice, with envelopes available at the cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
