Lucas Evan Mehler

Lucas Evan Mehler, 21, of rural Hutsonville died at 3:48 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 near Van Buren, MO. He was born January 1, 1992 in Vincennes, IN, the son of Jeff €œDoc€ Mehler & Tracy Dix Mehler. Lucas worked as an inspector for Mistras and was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Martinsville, IL. He was an avid sports fan, and loved the Green Bay Packers. Lucas was a competitor. In school, he was a four-year LIC All-Conference baseball player, and played on multiple all-star teams in summer league. In 2005, he was a member of the State Champion 13 Year-Old All-Star Team. He also played football and made All-Conference during his sophomore year. He really enjoyed having a good time.Lucas was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert €œBert€ & Gretchen Mehler, Bill & Maxine Mehler, Ron Dix, Carl Dix, and Doris Munden.He is survived by his parents; his two brothers, Jake Mehler and Logan & Sammy Mehler; his two special nephews, Radlee & Ruxin Mehler; his grandmother, Linda Dix; aunts & uncles, Greta & Dick Wilk, Toni Mehler, Mona & Don Wernz, PK & Garry Stepp, Lou Brinkman, Carla & Randy Strohm, Cindy & Steve Fulling, Rhonda & Allen Van Meter; as well as several great aunts & uncles, cousins, and friends.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 4th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lucas Mehler Scholarship Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
