Lyle V. Stone

Lyle V. Stone, 87, of Palestine died August 17th, 2014 at 6:05pm at his home in Palestine. He was born October 25th, 1926 in Knox County, IN, the son of Lyle C. and Fannie (Fields) Stone. He worked at D&S Oils, where he retired as an Owner/Operator. He married Doris G. Unsworth on August 5th, 1949, and she preceded him in death on March 30th, 1992. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers James, Marvin “M.C.” and Harold Stone and sister Geraldine Stone. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Jim and Nita Stone of Palestine, daughter and son-in-law Linda and Steve McDaniel of Palestine, daughter and son-in-law Colleen and Ed Mason of Robinson, daughter Diane Stone of Robinson, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, friend Marie Junkin of Vincennes. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 20th, 2014 10:00am at the Kirk Chapel Cemetery, with Curt Goodwine officiating. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 19th, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
