Mabel Lorene Alumbaugh

Mabel Lorene Alumbaugh, 90, of Palestine, IL, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at her residence. She was born March 7, 1923 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Joe Seaney and Viola Nethery Seaney. She was a homemaker who also enjoyed tending to her flower garden. She attended the Robinwood Assembly of God Church in Robinson and the Highway Church of God in Lawrenceville.Mabel married Robert Lee Alumbaugh on July 22, 1939 and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jane Termain; her grandsons, Scott Termain, Michael Tiedemann, and Michael Wicke; 3 sisters, Fern Wilson, Betty Clark, and Sandra Hodge; and 2 brothers, Harold Seaney and Leonard Seaney.Mabel is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Judy & Walter Wood (Evansville, IN); her son & daughter-in-law, Brad & Debra Alumbaugh (Ft. Pierce, FL): her 3 granddaughters, Michelle Beatty, Eliese Drawdy, and Jessica Cox; 4 grandsons, Clint Wood, Chad Wood, Brian Alumbaugh, and Shane Alumbaugh; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Sharon McSchooler (Robinson); 2 brothers-in-law, Rev. Paul & Sandra Alumbaugh and Jim & Linda Alumbaugh; 4 sisters-in-law, Mary Brown, Patty Alumbaugh, Ruth Milligan, and Betty Alumbaugh; as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine with Rev. Paul Alumbaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Unit #3 School District with envelopes available at the funeral home.
