Mardell Mae Manship, 87 of Robinson, IL, died at 6:15 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Magnolia Center, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, after an extended illness. She was born March 27, 1927 in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of John and Lillian Schleater Keasling. Mardell graduated from Indiana Beauty College and went on to own and operate the Bonita Beauty Shop in Vincennes, IN. She was a member of the Robinson Highland Church of Christ, the Crawford County Farm Bureau, a past member of the Palestine Junior Women’s Club, and the Crawford County Homemakers Extension Association. She married Donald Manship on January 13, 1951 and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1996. She was also preceded by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Violet Keasling, and her parents, John and Lillian Keasling. Mardell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Rhonda Manship, rural Palestine; her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Randy Smith, Rochester, MI; three grandchildren, Jared Smith Rochester, MI, Blake and his wife, Colleen Manship, Anchorage, AK, Brooke Manship, Robinson, and a great granddaughter, Riley Manship, Anchorage, Ak, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson on Tuesday, April 29th with her nephew, Pastor Larry Manship officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 28th at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to the Lincolnland Hospice.
