Margie Stone

Margie Stone, 70, of Robinson, IL, died at 4:15 a.m. (EST) on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born February 25, 1947 in Robinson, IL the daughter of Clayton & Ruth (Boyd) McDaniel. She married Ted Stone on September 29, 1967, and he survives. She is also survived by her sons, Blake Stone (Joliet, IL), and Justin & wife Erin Stone (Chicago, IL); by her grandchildren, Kelsie Stone (Palatine, IL), Caeleigh Stone (Palatine, IL), Alice Stone (Chicago, IL), and Cora Stone (Chicago, IL); and by her brother, Gene McDaniel (Denver, CO). Margie was, by all accounts, a sports fanatic. This passion was evident throughout her many years of coaching youth sports. She didn’t just coach, she was also quite the spectator. She was a longtime and avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, but found herself also cheering on the Chicago Cubs in recent years. While Margie enjoyed watching the pros, nothing brought her more joy than watching her children and grandchildren compete. She was proud of them, on and off the field. They, along with the rest of her family and many friends, will miss her dearly. A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will immediately follow and will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial following in the Robinson New Cemetery. Pastor Brandon Boyd will officiate the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
