Marie J. Fuller

Marie J. Fuller, 87 of rural Palestine, IL, died at 3:07 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. She was born November 3, 1927 in Palestine, the daughter of Delbert and Katie (Brashear) Baker. She was a life-long member of the First Christian Church in Palestine. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1946 and attended 1 year of teaching college at Eastern Illinois University before marrying. She devoted the rest of her life as a house wife and mother. She married Troy B. Fuller on April 10, 1948, and he preceded her in death in August 2007. Marie is survived by 8 children and their spouses, Pam & Butch Calvert, Don Fuller, Doc & Janet Fuller, Sheen Fuller, Marita Stoltz, and Reese & Janice Fuller (all of Palestine, IL), Merrill & Kathy Fuller (Middleton, Ohio), and Jo Beth & Harold Briner (Calhoun, Georgia); 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Kathryn 'Katie' & Dick Marlowe (Paris, IL), 2 brothers-in law, Leroy & Eileen Fuller, Bob & Deb Fuller, (both of Palestine, IL), 2 sisters-in-law, Jane & Chuck Peter (Jacksonville, IL), Kay & Wilbur Oelschlager (Cody, WY); as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents; 2 sisters, Doris Morrison and Hazel Baker; 1 daughter-in-law, Sharon Fuller; 1 grandson and 1 granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19th at the Palestine First Christian Church, with Pastor Dennis Steckley to officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Palestine First Christian Church. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
