Marilyn (Lindley) Edwards

Marilyn (Lindley) Edwards, 85, of West Union, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Casey Health Care Center in Casey, IL. She was born March 28, 1932 in Melrose Township, Clark County, IL, the youngest daughter of William Henry Lindley & Emma Cleo (Wells) Lindley, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Bert Edwards on April 14, 1967, and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lynne Robinson (rural West Union, IL); by her son, James Robinson (Columbus, IN); by her two grandsons, Ethan James Robinson (Charleston, IL) and Jeremiah Robinson (rural West Union, IL); by her sister, Virginia Lindley (Marshall, IL); by her brother, John “Jack” Wells (Marshall, IL); as well as several extended family members. Marilyn was a 1952 graduate of Marshall High School. She went on to work for Dean Clatfelter as a bookkeeper for many years. When she wasn’t busy at work, she spent quite a bit of time sewing and quilting by hand, having made countless treasures over the course of her life. Anyone who knew her could attest to the fact that Marilyn loved animals, especially cats and pigs. They could also tell you of her prowess in the kitchen. More than anything, Marilyn loved people, and the relationships she built will last in our hearts for many years to come. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in rural Marshall, IL. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9th at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 10th at the funeral home with burial following in the Bradbury Cemetery. Celebrant Curt Goodwine and Pastor Billy Adams will officiate the services. Memorials may be made to the Bradbury Cemetery or to Marshall Community Schools, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
