Marjorie Ann Higgins-Baud

Marjorie Ann Higgins-Baud, 86, of Stoy, IL, died at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in the comfort of her home. She was born July 16, 1930 in rural Lawrence County, the daughter of Earl C. Higgins & Eva Ruth (Pinkstaff) Higgins, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Gene Higgins; by her sister, Mary Wilson; and by her daughter-in-law, Susan Baud. She married John Baud on September 9, 1953, and he survives. She is also survived by her sons & daughter-in-law, James Baud (Olney, IL) and John, Jr & Beverly Baud (Bella Vista, AR); by her daughter & son-in-law, Nancy & Alan Danielsen (Bettendorf, IA); by eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; by her brothers & sister-in-law, Jackie Higgins (Bettendorf, IA) and Bobby & Loretta Higgins (Robinson, IL); by her sister-in-law, Betty Jo Higgins (Tuscola, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Marge was a 1949 graduate of Palestine High School. She went on to work for the Ettelbrick Shoe Factory in Robinson for a number of years before moving on to work for a number of local businesses, including Victor-Dana and Wal*Mart. Away from work, she could often be found tending to her home and especially enjoyed gardening. Away from home, she loved to play Bingo, as nearly anyone who knew her could attest. However, more than anything, she loved simply spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will immediately follow and will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with Pastor Burl Shinkle officiating the service. Burial will follow the service and will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
