Marjorie Evon (Knapp) Jenkins, 91, of Palestine, died February 27th, 2015 in Vero Beach FL. She was born April 22nd, 1923 in Martinsville, IN, the daughter of Harvey and Ethyl (Hayes) Knapp. She was a devoted Christian, and was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Palestine. She enjoyed square dancing, sewing, quilting, and spending time with her family. She worked for many years, and enjoyed being a cook and friend to all the children at Palestine Grade School the most. She was proud of living in the same home in Palestine for 70 years. On July 1, 1939, she married the love of her life, Glen Earl Jenkins, and he preceded her in death on April 20th 1990, she was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Winfred Knapp, Altas (Buck) Knapp, and Beauford (Boob) Knapp. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Judy and Ed Dhom of Newton, son Ronald Jenkins of Palestine, sons and daughters-in-law Kevin and Nancy Jenkins of Vero Beach, FL, Mike and Donna Jenkins of Palestine. She is also survived by sister Wilda Eveland of Lawrenceville; sisters-in-law Janice Knapp of Batavia IL, Faye Jenkins of St. Mary’s OH; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11th, 2015 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday.
