Marjorie Lucille Swearingen, 94, of Robinson passed away at 8:20pm, July 15, 2014 at the United Methodist Villages in Lawrenceville. She was born on August 19, 1919 in Palestine, the daughter of David P. and Clara E. (Turner) Roy. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Olney, and worked as a Ward Clerk at the Richland Memorial Hospital for 35 years. Previous to that, she owned and operated the E&M Grocery Store with her husband in Oblong until 1956. She married William Evert Swearingen on May 17th, 1937. He preceded her in death on 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Kay Albin of Robinson, son David Swearingen and wife Cheryl of Raleigh NC, her grandchildren and their spouses; Lisa and Jimmy White of Mansfield TX, Brad and Cindy Albin of Ames IA, Debbie and Scott Shellabarger of Raleigh NC, Mike Swearingen of Morehead City NC, her great grandchildren Brooke Little and Dalton Shellabarger of Raleigh NC, Carson White and Garrett White of Mansfield TX, Julian Albin and Alex Albin of Ames IA, and Christian, Jarrett and Lauren Swearingen of Morehead City, NC. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 18th at 11:00am at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Rev. Tiffany Black officiating. Burial will follow at the Oblong Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00am until 11:00 am Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Bell Choir Fund; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
