Marjorie Sempsrote

Marjorie Sempsrote, 95, of Robinson, IL, died at 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, IL. She was born August 7, 1921, the daughter of Charles & Ruth (Waggoner) Strange, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Millard “Jack” Sempsrote on August 29, 1996; by her brothers, Robert Strange and Mervin Strange; and by her sister, Evelyn “Bird” Shoulders. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Bill & Janet Sempsrote (Robinson, IL); by her grandsons, Billy Sempsrote, Jr. (Robinson, IL) Bryan Sempsrote (Robinson, IL) and Brett Sempsrote (Indianapolis, IN); by her great-grandchildren, Monica Sempsrote, Lennon Sempsrote, and Bronx Sempsrote; by her sister, Maggie Motor; by her brothers, Melvin Strange and Donald Strange; as well as several nieces and nephews. Marjorie grew up in rural Chauncey, IL, and went on to work for a number of local businesses. Her life’s work, however, was in making a home for her beloved family. She was a wonderful cook and baker who loved spending time in her kitchen, making meals for those she loved dearly. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2nd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, IL, with Bro. Jerry McDaniel officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. A time of visitation will precede the service and will be held from 12:00-2:00 on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
