Mark Stephen Bachelor, 62, of Hutsonville, died at 11:22 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson due to complications from emphysema. He was born May 17, 1951 in Robinson, the son Billie G. Bachelor & Doris Godfrey Bachelor. Mark served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. Back home, he worked construction most of his life, and even owned his own construction business for several years. He was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, and was a former member of the Elks. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dogs and his family. He married Paula Oliver on December 14, 1997, and she survives. He is also survived by his three children, Adam & Carla Bachelor (Robinson), Valerie & Jeremy Ping (Oblong), Amanda Bachelor (Robinson); two step-sons, Joshua Yargus (Palestine) and Sean Yargus (CA); 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Jim & Deanna Bachelor (Mt. Vernon, IL), Greg & Cathy Bachelor (Flat Rock, IL) and Mike & Cathy Bachelor (Flat Rock); as well as several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Palestine AmVets Post # 33, Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, Robinson American Legion Post #69, and the Flat Rock American Legion Post # 132. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28th at the funeral home.
