Martha E. Obst, 79, of Robinson died at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. She was born January 29, 1935 in Hardinville, IL, the daughter of William Allen Sexton and Lefvonia G. (Weaver) Sexton. Martha was a kind, caring woman who always had an open door and a smiling face. She loved her two pets, Casey & Miss Kitty, but with all of her heart, she adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Martha enjoyed quilting, and also enjoyed mushroom hunting, watching the St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and loved playing cards with family and friends, with whom she was passionately competitive. She was a woman of faith, having been an active member of the Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church for over 60 years. Many will remember her as the cafeteria manager at Lincoln Grade School, a job she held for 30 years until she retired. She will be greatly missed by everyone for her kind heart and her compassion for others. Martha married Kenneth “Tom” Obst on December 6, 1950 and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Ned Levin; and her brothers and sisters, Mary Pauline Sexton, Hilda Randles, Wayne Sexton, and Warren Sexton.
