Martha E. Wampler

Martha E. Wampler, 89, of Robinson, IL, died at 7:15 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL. She was born June 19, 1922 in Flat Rock, IL, the daughter of Lester Tohill and Bertha Higgins Tohill. She was a homemaker and a member of the Robinson Free Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549 Women€™s Auxiliary.Martha married Lloyd E. Wampler on December 22, 1940 and he preceded her in death on September 3, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 4 grandsons; 2 brothers, Henry and Harry Tohill; and 2 sisters, Anna Trout and Faye Haner.She is survived by her 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Harry D. & Patricia Wampler (Columbus, IN), Thomas R. & Sharon Wampler (Flat Rock, IL), Stephen L. & Tokiko W. Wampler (Houston, TX), Carl W. & Kathy Jo Wampler (Robinson); her 2 daughters and her son-in-law, Joyce & John Griffin (rural Willow Hill, IL) and Donna Dart (Robinson); 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Bernice Dunlap (Robinson), Edith Cox (Robinson), and Melva Williamson (rural Robinson); and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Robinson Free Methodist Church with Pastor Adam Conder officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 30th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Robinson Free Methodist church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
