Marvin Earl Richards

December 25, 1931 — February 2, 2016

Marvin Earl Richards, 84, of West Union, IL, passed away on February 2nd, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Danville, IL. He was born on December 25th, 1931 in rural Sullivan, IL, the son of Ova & Helen (Bryant) Richards. He served his country in the United States Army from January 1951-April 1962. Back home, he was an ironworker, and a member of Local Ironworkers #395 in Hammond, IN, and a member of the Marshall VFW Post #5975. He married Allie Webb on January 10th, 1961, and she preceded him in death on December 1st, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Raymond and Randal Richards. He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Phyllis Ann & Edward Dusard, Valparaiso, IN; 2 grandchildren, Krystle Marie & husband, Jeremy Kirleis (Valparaiso, IN) and Joseph Edward Dusard (Valparaiso, IN); two great grandsons, Ethan Edward Kirleis and Bradyn Andrew Kirleis (Valparaiso, IN); sister Janet K Seaney (Palestine, IL); his sister & brother-in-law Linda Lou & Paul Price (Humboldt, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union from 1:00-3:00pm. Graveside services will follow the visitation and will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery (rural Annapolis, IL). Memorial contributions may be made to the West Union Public Library or to the Marshall VFW Post #5975, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
