Marvin Wayne Johnson

Marvin Wayne Johnson, 70, of Fort Branch, IN, died on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Evansville, IN. He was born November 18, 1943 in Montgomery Township, the son of Marvin Oscar Johnson & Zelda Naomi Ferguson Johnson. He was a former maintenance planner at Alcoa in Newberg, IN from September 1971-September 11, 2000. He was a member of the Evansville Hadi Shrine, and served on their color guard. He enjoyed attending local auctions and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all. Marvin married Jaynita Smith Baggett on June 23, 1979, and she preceded him in death on March 2, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his two children, DuWayne A. & Dianna Johnson and Machelle L. & Brian McGennis; two step-children, LaDonna A. Guzzo and Jay Ian Chester Baggett; grandchild Dillen Johnson; two step-grandchildren, Courtney Baggett & Taylor Guzzo; his brother, Bill & Cathy Johnson; his half-sister, Wenona Griffith; his niece, Shelly & Rusty Ridgely (and family); and his nephew, Matt & Jessica Johnson (and family). Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock, IL. Burial will be held in the Seceder-Maxwell Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8th at the funeral home, with Masonic rites to be held at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children with envelopes available at the funeral home.
