Mary Cleo Johns

Mary Cleo Johns, 83 years, 7 months, 8 days, died from natural causes at the Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX on Saturday, Jan 5th, 2013 at 6:00 pm. She was a resident of Lancaster, TX for 12 years. She resided at the Red Oak Health & Rehab Center, Red Oak, TX for the past six years. She died with her daughters & son-in laws by her side.Mrs. Johns was born in Honey Creek Twp., rural Flat Rock, Crawford Co., IL on 28 May 1929 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Portage, Indiana, her interest in the church and strong faith in her Savior never lessened. She resided in Sikeston, Mo. with her daughter before moving to live with her other daughter in Lancaster, TX. Those left to mourn her departure are two sons, Flemmon Otto Cochran Jr., Anchorage, AK., Roger Lee (Helen) Cochran of Chesterton, Ind.; two daughters; Mrs. Mary Lou Cochran (Sonny) Overton and Mrs. Donna Jean Cochran (Gary) Bartlett both of Lancaster Texas; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Dean (Geneva) Cafin of Palestine, IL., and Joe (Mary) Cafin of Lake Station, Ind.; her sister-in-law Grace (Gowin) Cafin of Duncanville, IL; several step children; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was the widow of the late Charles W. Johns and Flemmon O. Cochran, Sr; and daughter of late Rollie & Grace (Gaddis) Cafin. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Clinton; Roy (Catharoyn Miller); Albert (Reba Cole); Byrl; Robert Lee Cafin and three sisters; Mae Irene (Virgil) Robins; Agnes Maurine (Mearl) Tincher & Anna Belle (Ernie) Patten.A celebration of Life honoring Mrs. Johns will be held Sunday, January 13th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Flat Rock with visitation from 4:00 p.m., until 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 14th with Thomas Buchanan officiating. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery rural Flat Rock. A pot-luck will be held at the Flat Rock Fire Station following graveside services. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the charities of your choice.
