Mary K. Evans

Mary K. Evans, 85, of Michigan City, IN, died at 8:57 a.m. (EST) on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. She was born May 8, 1931 in Montgomery Township, Crawford County, IL, the daughter of Francis Marion Liston (d. 1944) & Letha S. Lackey (d. 1998), both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert L. Liston (d. 1951); by her aunts, Edna Stanford and Eleanor Bednar; by her uncles, Ralph Lackey and Elliott Liston; by her cousin, Charles Liston; and by her longtime partner, Gene Russell (d. 2009). She is survived by her cousins, Marcella Ryan (Palestine, IL), Richard Miller (Wartrace, TN), Mary Ann Fulling (Palestine, IL); as well as their children, Dale Ryan (Palestine, IL), Linda Ryan-Catt (Palestine, IL), Cindy Boyd (Palestine, IL), Janice Fuller (Palestine, IL), and Marilyn Garrard (Charleston, IL). She was a longtime resident of Michigan City, IN, where she was a waitress at the Hickory Pit, and later owned and operated a package liquor store, East Side Package Liquor. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on May 25th at the Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Palestine, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
