Mary Louise Wagoner Shonk

Mary Louise Wagoner Shonk, 48, of Robinson died at 11:14 a.m. (EST) on March 8, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She was born June 20, 1964 in Sullivan, IN, the daughter of Donald D. Wagoner & Marjorie Louise Walters Wagoner. She graduated from Palestine High School in 1982 and Lincoln Trail College in 1984. She attended the Palestine First Christian Church for several years before she moved to Robinson, where she was involved at Highland Avenue Baptist Church.Mary worked at the Quail Creek Country Club for 30 years, where she exercised her special gift of making friends. She had a warm heart, and easily made friends everywhere she went. She also loved renovating houses, and was the brains and the heart behind Shonk Rentals, a business she and her husband Mark worked very hard to build.Mary married Mark Shonk on April 19, 1986 and he survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Whitney Shonk of Lawrenceville; her son, Michael Shonk of Robinson; her brothers Don (Michelle) Wagoner of Palestine and Ted Wagoner of Palestine; her sister, LaDonna (Jeff) Seaton of Mt. Carmel; her mother-in-law & father-in-law, Ruth & Martin Shonk of Annapolis; her brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Max & Connie Evans of Robinson, Mark & Patti Brown of Roadhouse, IL, and Andrew Shonk of Marshall; several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; as well as her beloved pugs, Chubbs & Winston.Mary was at peace with her passing due to her faith in God.A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16th at the Highland Avenue Baptist Church in Robinson, with Pastor Dwight McDaniel officiating the service. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until service time at 5:00 p.m. at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, it is the family€™s wish that contributions may be made to the Crawford County Relay for Life, the Crawford County Humane Society, or to the Baptist Children€™s Home, with envelopes available at the church and funeral home. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of the arrangements.
