Maxine C. Cook, 79, of Robinson, IL, died at 5:53 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 3, 1938 in Robinson, the daughter of Francis Lee & Bethel (Crossfield) Moore, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Marvin Lee Cook on July 1, 1959, and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2015. She was also preceded in death by several siblings; by her son, Jeffery A. Cook and by her great-granddaughter, Kelsey Owen. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Michael L. & Karen Cook (Hutsonville, IL); by her daughter, Cheryl Cook (Robinson, IL) & her fiancé, Richard Bushong (Martinsburg, WV); by her grandchildren, Jody Owen (Sullivan, IN), Jenny Knapp (Sullivan, IN), Mindy Smith (Robinson, IL), Lyle Robertson (Sullivan, IN), Michael M. Cook (Oblong, IL), Casey Cook (Hutsonville, IL), Jessica McVicar (Pimento, IN), Latara Cook (Salem, IN), Landon Brattin (Ridgley, MO), Chad Brattin (Exeter, MO), and Jackie Murray (Crane, MO); by eighteen great-grandchildren; by her sister, Rosemary Badgley (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Maxine was a 1956 graduate of Robinson High School and went on to serve her country in the U.S. Navy for two years following graduation. work as a supervisor for Robinson Transformer for over 35 years. Away from work, Maxine could be found making quilts, playing cards, and was known to spend time on the dance floor. She stayed active throughout her life, and was always on the go. She will long be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother to her beloved family. It was her wish to be cremated with no public services to be held. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Transportation Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
