Michael L. Brenton

Michael L. Brenton, 49, of Claremont, IL, died at 4:41 p.m. on July 13, 2015 in rural Stoy, IL. He was born September 16, 1965 in Robinson, IL, the son of Jackie Lee & Angie (McIntosh) Brenton He married Amber Benefield Pitts on June 20, 2014 and she survives. He is also survived by his mother & step-father, Angie & LeRoy Catt (Robinson, IL); his daughter, Heather K. Brenton (Maple Valley, WA); by his step-daughter, Chelsea Pitts (Olney, IL); his step-son Clayton Pitts (Claremont); his grandchildren, Hailey and Jaxson; by his brother, Jason Brenton (Bridgeport, IL); his sister & brother-in-law, Babbi & Scott DeBelle (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Lee Brenton; by his sister, Michelle Brenton; and by his son, Zephen Brenton. Michael was a 1984 graduate of Robinson High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and enjoyed telling stories from his years of service. While in the service, he served as an operating room specialist, having worked at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He went on to work as a surgical assistant in a number of hospitals, including Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He loved his family with every fiber of his being. He will also be remembered for never living life halfway, having spent every day like it was his last. His laughter and joy will be missed by all who knew him. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Graveside services will follow the visitation and will be held at the Hardinville Cemetery with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. Memorials may be made to the Michael Brenton Memorial Fund, with checks made payable to Goodwine Funeral Homes.
