Michael Lee Redman

Michael Lee Redman, 62, of Flat Rock, IL, died at 6:30 p.m. on April 26, 2018 at his home. He was born February 10, 1956 in Robinson, IL, the son of the late Jerome Wall Redman & Wanda Mae (Wesley) Redman. He is survived by his mother, Wanda Redman (Flat Rock, IL); by his daughters & son-in-law, Tracey & Justin McWhirter (Hutsonville, IL) and Amanda Redman (Hutsonville, IL); by his granddaughter, Alexys Redman (Hutsonville, IL); by his sisters, Kathy and Teresa; by his brothers, Rod and Rusty; as well as several nieces, nephews and valued friends. Mike grew up in the Flat Rock area and attended school there for a time. He transferred to Robinson High School, where he graduated in 1974. He worked for a number of local businesses over the years: Briggs Pottery (where he worked until closing), Auto Zone, and Hershey, where he has been employed over the last several years. Away from work, few things brought him more joy than classic cars, having attended countless car shows over the course of his life. He was also an avid collector of coins and baseball cards, the latter of which he sold as co-owner of Vision Comics. Mike will be remembered as a friendly and personable soul who’s sense of humor lit up the world around him. He will never be forgotten. A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock. A funeral service will immediately follow and will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tohill Cemetery. Attendees are encouraged to bring their classic cars to services. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Collectibles Car Club, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
