Michael Myers

Michael Myers, 61, of Robinson, IL, died at 10:27 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born February 15, 1956 in Robinson, IL, the son of Jerry & MaDonna (Eaton) Myers. He married Tommie Jeneen Stewart on June 19, 2004, and she survives. He is also survived by his mother, MaDonna Myers (Palestine, IL); by his children, Amy Myers (Robinson, IL), Mandy Maddox & Michael Brewster (Hartsville, TN), Dusty McDowell & Cady Hoke (Oblong, IL), and Shane & Whitney McDowell (Hutsonville, IL); by his brother, Tony Myers (Porterville, IL); by his sisters, Candy Parrish (Palestine, IL), and Angela Kincaid (Lawrenceville, IL); by his 12 grandchildren (with one on the way) and 5 great-grandsons; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mike attended school in Robinson, and went on to work for Tempco for 10 years before going to work for TRW (now ZF) in Marshall, where he’s worked for the past 7 years. When he wasn’t working, he was either rooting on the Chicago Cubs or playing music. Since the age of 7, Mike has been plucking the guitar, and it was always a great source of joy through his life. He played for many bands through the years, including Nite Life and Black River Band. While music was a very important part of his story, the most important was his family. He simply loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and his beloved dogs, Clyde and Carmen. He left a mark on all those who loved him, and could never be forgotten. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Aaron Peternel will officiate the service. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society or to the Robinson High School Jazz Band (with checks made payable to “Robinson High School”). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
