Mike Newell

Mike Newell, 51, of Robinson, died at 6:43 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital. He was born June 20, 1963 in Robinson, IL, the son of Don & Doris Gaddis Newell. Mike was involved with body work nearly 30 years. He was involved in the Eagles, American Legion, and V.F.W. Auxiliaries. An avid outdoorsman, Mike loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He will be remembered as a great friend and a loving father. He married his wife, Sherri on September 28, 2002, and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Nicole Belford (Oblong, IL); his sister, Mary Holliday (Robinson, IL); his brother, John Newell (Olney, IL); three step-sons, Jesse Davis, Bruce Davis, and Shawn Davis; several grandkids; as well as several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jimmy Dean. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Grand Prairie Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Transportation Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
