Mildred Hess

Mildred Hess 87, of Robinson, IL, died at 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born March 23, 1927, the daughter of William Charles Dunlap and Lilly Snyder Dunlap. Mildred married Glen Hess on May 14, 1948 and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Julie Wampler, 3 brothers, Kenneth, Willard (Pete) and William (Bill) Dunlap, 3 sisters, Marian Catt, Elizabeth Cooley and June Johnson. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Donna and John Swain, Vandalia IL, Delores (Dee) and Gary Wampler, Robinson, IL, Peggy and Jerry Brashear, Flat Rock, IL and Jeff and Debbie Hess, Robinson, IL; 12 grandchildren, Michelle (Eric) Holman, Johnny Swain and friend Danielle Miller, and Brian Swain, Vandalia, IL, Janna (James) Bell, Lawrenceville, IL, Jared (Carrie) Wampler, Kristy (Vince) Laino, Amy (Debbie) Hess, Robinson, IL, Tina (Johnny) Rinsch, Birds IL, Jeri Lee Brashear and friend (Matt), Paul (Jessica) Brashear, Flat Rock, IL, Rendi Brashear and friend (Manuel) TN, Kerry Hess, Mattoon, IL; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; her brother and sister-in-law Wilbur and Sandra Dunlap, Lawrenceville, IL; 2 sisters, Mary Guess, Robinson, IL and Sarah Maus, Oblong, IL; and her sister-in-law Marian Dunlap, Lawrenceville, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Pastor Rick Catt officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8th at the funeral home. Memorials in memory of Mildred may be made to Riley’s Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis, IN, to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or to the donor’s choice.
