Mona Diane Ramsey

Mona Diane Ramsey, 65, of Palestine, IL, died at 5:35 a.m. on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, IL. She was born January 17, 1952 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Dale Foster Ramsey & Frances (Donahue) Ramsey, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Ramsey, Jerry Ramsey, as well as a brother in infancy; and by her sister, Anita Weger. She is survived by her daughter, Aimee Vennard & fiancé, Doug Trump (Palestine, IL); by her son & daughter-in-law, Robert & Tara Vennard (Palestine, IL); by her grandchildren, Cody Herrington, Bailey Weger, Tyson Vennard, Dawson Vennard, and Kynlee Vennard; by her step-grandchildren, Tarryn Monti and Tailar Monti; by her sister & brother-in-law, Donna & James Kent (Heathsville, IL); by her brother, Melvin Ramsey (Palestine, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Mona was raised in Palestine and was a 1970 graduate of Palestine High School. She was a longtime fixture at the Eagles, where she worked many years in both the kitchen and behind the bar. When she wasn’t working at the Eagles, she could often be found working a crossword puzzle or cutting hair for a few folks. She was a fantastic cook, and will long be remembered for her world-famous ham salad. Cooking brought joy not only to Mona, but to all fortunate enough to taste her creations. She was one of a kind, and will never be forgotten. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A memorial service will follow and will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Watson officiating the service.
