Myra Lou Goff

Myra Lou Goff, 74, of Robinson, IL, peacefully passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in the comfort of her home. She was born on December 17, 1942, the daughter of Louis & Miriam (Cannon) Waldrop, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Rick Goff and by her brothers, Francis Waldrop, Marlin Waldrop, and Don Waldrop. She married John Goff on December 22, 1961, and he survives. She is also survived by her sons, Steve & wife Dawn Goff (Indianapolis, IN) and Jason Goff & partner Eric Johnson (Colorado Springs, CO); by her daughter, Kristin Goff (Denver, CO); by her grandchildren, Kinsey & husband Jordan East and Alex Goff; as well as several nieces and nephews. Myra graduated from Lawrenceville High School in 1960, and furthered her education at both Vincennes University and Lincoln Trail College. She was a preschool teacher for 25 years at the Mother Goose Nursery School, and touched the lives of countless area children. Much of her free time was spent enjoying a game of golf or watching cooking shows. She was also an avid Cardinals fan, having attended ballgames in all three stadiums. Myra will long be remembered as a kind, gentle soul and her love will live on in all who knew her. She was a longtime member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Judy Williams officiating the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the “NOW Program”, a program that sends supplemental food home on weekends with a number of students in the Robinson School District. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
