Nina June Mcgraw

August 12, 1932 — June 16, 2016

Nina June McGraw, 83, passed away on June 16th in Lewiston, Maine. She was born August 12th, 1932 in Mercer county, MO to Edward and Laura Still. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. Nina worked in service to the Palestine First United Methodist Church on the Board of Trustees in Palestine, IL and also served as Chairman of the PPR committee. She worked at the Palestine Public Library for 12 years. She was a teacher for the mentally handicapped for many years in Denver, CO. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, embroidery and working in her flower garden. She was predeceased by her parents; by her brother Edward and his daughter Shelly Kay; by her grandparents, Ira & Clara Bower and William & Bessie Still; by her aunts & uncles, Mary & Doyle Mitchell and Maude & Elmer Vaughn; by her cousin, Gary Mitchell; and by her son-in-law Daniel Holdstein, and Tom McGraw. She is survived by her sister, Joyce Robertson and husband Jerry; sister-in-law, Pam Still and nephew Kenneth Still and family; by her children, Raymond Lamp and wife Lisa, Linda Gulliford and husband Robert, Terri Jachetta and husband Dan, and Lizabeth Holdstein; by her grandchildren, Matthew Jachetta, Manda Ellison and husband George and great-grandchildren Daisy and George, Nina Christian and husband Sonny Hall and great grandchildren Gage, Gavin and Grayson. Melissa Belcher and great grandchildren Alexander and Theodore, Derek Holdstein, Kevin Holdstein and wife Briana and great granddaughter Charlotte, and Kyle Holdstein; by her cousins, Alva Mitchell and family, and Lyle Mitchell; Lowell Lamp; as well as many more nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 23rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, IL. Services will follow and will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jane Drake officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Olive Branch Cemetery in rural Annapolis, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Palestine Public Library, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
