Nina Ruth Mitchell, 86, of Palestine, IL, died at 7:10 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Heritage Health in Robinson, IL. She was born October 29, 1929 in Palestine, IL, the daughter of Clem Earleywine & Hallie McDade Earleywine, both of whom preceded her in death. Nina married Lon “Mitch” Mitchell on March 28, 1948, and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Lehmann on September 26, 2014; by her brothers, Winfred “Moon” Earleywine, Clem Earleywine, and Jerry Earleywine. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Steve & Patty Mitchell (Palestine, IL); by her granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Misty & Troy Noblit (Robinson, IL); by her brother & sister-in-law, Jim & Virginia Earleywine (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. She was a longtime member of the Palestine First Christian Church and will long be remembered for her sociable nature, having never met a stranger. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A private burial will be held in the Palestine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
