Nina Ruth Plew

Nina Ruth Plew, 90, of Hutsonville, IL died at 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. She was born September 8, 1923 in Palestine, IL, the daughter of Bert York & Nellie McDaniel York. In the early 1970s, she owned the Cedar Room in Hutsonville. She worked production for Lexel Industries for a number of years. She was a member of the Second United Methodist Church in Hutsonville. Nina married Leslie Durwood Plew on October 31, 1943, and he preceded her in death on February 18, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Leslie Plew, Jr; her brothers, Robert York and Kenneth York; and her sister, Louise Pearce. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Jo Etta & David York; her two sons & daughters-in-law, Bill & Denise Plew (Hutsonville, IL) and Donnie & Jackie Plew (Hutsonville, IL); eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Burial will follow in the Hutsonville Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
