Nona Gullett

Nona Gullett, 79, of Robinson, IL, died at 11:09 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her home. She was born March 26, 1937 in Heathsville, IL, the daughter of Charles & Hazel (Roderick) Chiddix, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Floyd Eugene Gullett on September 16, 1958 and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kyle “Squeezer” Gullett; and by her brothers, Milard Chiddix, Roy Chiddix, and George Darrell Chiddix. She is survived by two sons & daughters-in-law, Aaron & Daphne Gullett (Beecher City, IL) and Terry & Pati Gullett (Mayfield, KY); by her daughter-in-law, Kathie Gullett (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren, Chastity & Chris Luna (Robinson, IL), , Riley & Lauren Gullett (Robinson, IL), Lacey Gullett (Fredericksburg, IN), Travis Gullett (Tampa, FL), Trevor Gullett (Assumption, IL), Connor Gullett (Beecher City, IL), Danielle Gullett (Beecher City, IL), Nichole & Brian Mendenhall (Palestine, IL), Donnie “D.J.” Nichols (Robinson, IL), and Cassy Hooks (Robinson, IL); by her great-grandchildren, Lela Gullett (Robinson, IL), Tyler Miller (Fredericksburg, IN), and Kayzee Lewis (Fredericksburg, IN); as well as several nieces and nephews. Nona was a lifelong farmer, and spent much of her time in the field. When she wasn’t farming or working on farm equipment, she enjoyed expressing herself creatively by drawing and painting. She was a lover of music, and was especially fond of Elvis Presley. She also loved flowers and birdwatching. Friends and family will long remember Nona as an independent woman who loved her family dearly. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, IL. Funeral services will follow and will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial following in the Palestine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
