Norma Pittenger

Norma Pittenger, 76, of West Union, IL, died at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Heritage Health in Robinson, IL. She was born March 10, 1941 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Don Brown & Amy (McNary) Brown, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Charles Pittenger on October 26, 1958 and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2003 She was also preceded in death by her sons, Larry Pittenger and Thomas Pittenger; by her granddaughter, Victoria Pittenger; by her brother, Homer Brown; and by her sister, Martha Price. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Emery & Dawn Pittenger (Charleston, IL), Mark & Tammy Pittenger (Marshall, IL), Danney & Shery Pittenger (Newton, IL), Timothy Pittenger (Martinsville, IL), Terry & Brandy Pittenger (West Union, IL); by her daughters & sons-in-law, Carol & Steve Parks (Paris, IL) Cathy Bachelor & Tim Garrard (Robinson, IL); by 16 grandchildren; by 13 great-grandchildren; by her sisters, Della Bender (Terre Haute, IN), Elsie Rooney (Terre Haute, IN), Anita Crumrin (Terre Haute, IN); as well as several nieces and nephews. Norma grew up in the Livingston, IL area and attended Marshall High School. Much of her life was spent raising her nine children. They could attest to the fact that she loved Elvis Presley with a passion. The strength she showed at the end of her life will never be forgotten. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26th at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL. Graveside services will immediately follow and will be held at the Darwin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norma Pittenger. Memorial Fund, with checks made payable to “Goodwine Funeral Homes”.
