Norman W. Reinbold, 78, formerly of Flat Rock and Palestine, died at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Richland County Memorial Hospital in Olney. He was born February 3, 1937 in Powell, Wyoming, the son of Fay O. and Pauline (Adams) Reinbold, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister Donna Nadine Wheeldon and brother-in-law Harold Wheeldon. He graduated Palestine High School in 1955, and went on to graduate from the University of Illinois with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to work for U of I for a time before moving back home. He served his country in the Army National Guard for 6 years. Norman was a very bright man, and will long be remembered for his intellect. He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Norman Fay & Kristin Reinbold of Monticello, IL; his grandchildren, Dustin, Emma, Cassie, and Jordan Reinbold; his brothers Doyne & Pam Reinbold of Palestine, IL, Paul Reinbold of Flat Rock, IL, and Nolan & Norma Reinbold of Flat Rock, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18th at the Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Palestine, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Flat Rock Library. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
