O. H. Wiseman

O. H. Wiseman, 90 of Flat Rock, IL, died at 2:00 a.m. Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, IL. He was born on June 7, 1925 in Olney, IL, the son of Oran Herman Wiseman and Carrie Smith Wiseman. He was a retired pipefitter and farmer. He belonged to the Pipefitter’s union #157. He was a member of the Flat First United Methodist Church, the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge, the Danville Scottish Rite, and the Ansar Shrine in Springfield, IL. He married Nancy I. McDowell September 1, 1942 and she survives. He is also survived by his four sons and 1 daughter: Mervin Wiseman, Flat Rock, Paul Wiseman, Flat Rock, Terry and Shirley Wiseman, Robinson, Joyce and Gale Bennett, St. Bernice, IN, and Roger and Barbara Wiseman, Flat Rock; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30th at the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. A visitation will be held from noon Wednesday until 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock. Memorials may be made to the Flat Rock Community Center with envelopes at the funeral home or mailed to the Community Center.
