Ola Irene Myers

Ola Irene Myers, 98, of Palestine, IL, died at 7:10 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. She was born July 26, 1917 in rural Crawford County, IL, the daughter of Orland Lloyd Adams & Stella Edith Powden Adams, both of whom preceded her in death. Ola married Chester W. Myers on July 24, 1937, and he preceded her in death on February 19, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her son, Marvin Wayne Myers; by her step-daughter, Wanda Smith; by her brothers, Ray Adams and Fay Adams; and by her sister, Avis McCord. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Melvin & Joleen Myers (St. Louis, MO), Marlin & Cory Myers (Denver, CO); by four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; by her sisters, Bonnie Hudson (Palestine, IL) and Mary Creed (Palestine, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Ola will be remembered for her love of gardening, as well as the care she gave to her family. She lived a very long and fruitful life. It was Ola’s request to have private family services, with burial following in the Palestine Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
