Otis Kennedy Bailey

Otis Kennedy “Kenny” Bailey, 61, of Robinson, IL, died at 8:10 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015 in Mount Vernon, IN after a bravely fought battle with cancer. He was born August 3, 1953 in Walden, CO, the son of Donald Kennedy Bailey & Barbara Avalon Mills Bailey. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1972-1985. By the time he was honorably discharged, Otis had achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant, having served on a number of missile crews. His last act of duty was as an active duty Drill Sergeant in Fort Bliss, TX. After he left the Army, he became a salesman for Electrolux Vacuum for a time. He also worked at the Robinson Correctional Center, the Robinson Wal*Mart, and was a paper carrier for the Robinson Daily News. Otis loved the Lord, and his passion led many people to Christ over the years. He has attended many local churches and touched countless souls in the process. He married Kimberlie Ann Ferguson on July 11, 1979, and she survives. He is also survived by his father, Donald Kennedy Bailey; his children, Shaun Bailey (Paradise, CA), Amanda & Brian Partridge (Evansville, IN), and Michael Bailey (Evansville, IN); his grandchildren, Chloe, Kale, and Krews Partridge (all of Evansville, IN); as well as his step-brother, Thomas Horan. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, with Avery Higginbotham to officiate the service. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26th at the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ark of the Covenant Soup Kitchen, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
