Pansy M. Shaffer

Pansy M. Shaffer, 85, of Paducah, KY died Friday, February 15, 2013. She was born May 18, 1927 in Hutsonville, IL, the daughter of Lyman Everett Powell and Methyl Marie Maddox Powell. She was a transporter for the Radiology Department. Pansy loved baking, quilting, crocheting and gardening. She was a member of the Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, Paducah, KY.Pansy married Howard William Shaffer, Jr. on October 26, 1945 and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Omar Powell; and 3 sisters, Evelyn Lucille Powell, Fern Powell Hamblin, and Norma Powell Thompson.She is survived by 4 daughters, Patricia Ann (Reggie) Monk, West Union, Wilma Jean Little, West Paducah, KY, Joyce Rae Stokes, Baker, LA, and Janice Lynn (Gary) Miller, Benton, KY; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her brother, Charles Herman Powell, Port Richey, FL; and 12 nieces and nephews.Private family graveside services will be held at the Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, IL. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, West Union, IL is in charge of services.
