Pansy Marie Pope

Pansy Marie Pope, 86, of New Port Richey, FL, died at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2017 in New Port Richey. She was born on September 20, 1930 in Cisne, IL, the daughter Noel J. & Lucille (Clark) Grove, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Dale Pope on December 3, 1949, and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Betty Bailey and Martha Pope Tolliver; by her sisters, Helen Everett, Brenda Grove, and Nancy Fox; and by her brothers, Tom Grove and John Grove. She survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Patty & Don Plue (New Port Richey, FL); by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Pope & Val Souza (Little Elm, TX); by her son-in-law, Jim Bailey (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren, Lisa Pope & friend Joe Spanglo, Nathan & Shirin McSchooler, James S. Riley, Sean & Bobbi Pope, Nicole McSchooler, and Amanda Bailey; by her great-grandchildren, Jennie Scott, Jessie Scott, Jordan McSchooler, Mia McSchooler, and Carter McSchooler; by her great-great-grandchildren, Kyla Scott and Mackinley Scott; by her niece, Janine & Frank Richards; as well as her long-time special friend, Ray Swallish. Pansy was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years, and cared for countless members of our community. She was a member of the Robinson Church of Christ, and was involved in many church activities. She was also a long-time volunteer at Crawford Memorial Hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, but especially loved spending time with her family. They, along with Pansy’s many friends, have lost a special soul in Pansy Pope. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00- 3:00 p.m. on Sunday July 23rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. with burial following at the Robinson New Cemetery. Pastor Raymond Warfel will be officiating the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
